The Six ‘C’s’ to a Successful Mindset
By Jacklyn | May 9, 2007
Have you ever had that experience where you know what you should do but just can’t? It’s like something’s blocking you. You may not be able to even understand it, but you feel it – like an anchor. Now imagine that this block is costing you tons of money!
That was Shawn’s story. She had a record breaking month for herself- earning over $16k in commission, but she had let her pipe line ‘dry up.’You see, Shawn wasn’t following up. Through coaching we discovered that Shawn could connect with people and start the relationship, but dropped the ball there. She had a large number of potential prospects who had wanted to buy, but for whatever reason, didn’t. Read the rest of this entry »

How to Become an Ideal Leader
By Jacklyn | May 4, 2007
When you are at work, do you get frustrated because things don’t seem to be happening the way they’re supposed to be? You see people milling around but nothing gets accomplished. And in the daily hustle and bustle, do you feel that your goals remain just that goals. Then, maybe its time for you to stand up and do something about it.
Most people are content just to stand around listening for orders. And it isn’t unusual to adopt a follow-the-leader mentality. But maybe, somewhere inside of you, you feel the desire to make things happen to be the head, not the tail. Then maybe leadership just suits you fine.
Some people believe that great leaders are made, not born. Yes, it may be true that some people are born with natural talents. However, without practice, without drive, without enthusiasm, and without experience, there can be no true development in leadership.
You must also remember that good leaders are continually working and studying to improve their natural skills. This takes a commitment to constantly improve in whatever endeavor a person chooses.
First of all, let’s define leadership. To be a leader, one must be able to influence others to accomplish a goal, or an objective. He contributes to the organization and cohesion of a group. Read the rest of this entry »

Positive Attitude
By Jacklyn | May 2, 2007
Why is it so important to live a positive and optimistic life?
Because it can lead to a so much more fulfilling life. Optimism is synonymous with positive mood and good morale. It is also linked to successes in athletic, academic, career, business, better health and lasting relationships. And further more, positive individuals are much more attractive to people than negative people!
Ironically, the rates of depression and pessimism among people have never been higher than they are today, no matter the age group. These days it is affecting older, middle aged and even the younger people all the same way.
Although it is not the easiest thing in the world to change in our life, it is important to realize that being an optimist or pessimist is a matter of choice. We can choose to be positive or negative. In the real world, positive people are hit by the same hard smacks in life as do the negative people. The difference is just in the way they choose to respond to it. Positive and optimistic people tend to be convinced that these moments of pain are temporary set backs and that these events are challenges or opportunities as lessons learned and they get stimulated to move on even further! Impossible Is Just A Word
By Jacklyn | May 1, 2007
Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn’t fantasized about being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?
Often, we have big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that €“ dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic. This is a sad turn of events in our life.
As for me, I had big dreams after leaving my college. But merely 2 year in the working society, I gave up all my dreams just because the word impossible stepped into my mind due to my medical condition. Then, I went through a very painful experience for 12 years as I never attempt to make anything possible for me. Instead of working towards improvement, I literally gave up and ended up depressed, withdrawn and suicidal. From this, I would suggest that the word impossible should be banned from our thoughts as, at times, it can be very detrimental! Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Birthday to Me!
By Jacklyn | April 29, 2007
Yes, today is my birthday. Last night was one of the most memorable birthday celebrations I ever have. Even until now, while typing this, I˜m still having the ˜hang’ of the joy, excitement and all the sentimental feelings each friend had shared with me. I have a team of 97 people (ranging from age 3 to 70+ yrs old), waking up early in the Saturday morning, got ourselves caught in the jam at the Tuas Custom (due to the long weekend) and travel another 2-hr bus journey to reach our planned destination – KuKup.
The moment we came down from the bus, we were again welcomed by the familiar smell of the Malaysian’s popular sun-dried food in the air. I can still remember very vividly that last year, when 60 of us came to this place to celebrate my birthday, the pungent smell of the salted-fish was so strong that we can even still ‘smell’ it when we were already back in Singapore then!
But still, this did not stop us from coming here again to celebrate my special day. Why KuKup? Firstly, it’s one of the cheapest 2D1N weekend breakaway ($70/pax) with spacey homely accommodation (including all the entertainment facilities like Karaoke, board games, majong), 4 great meals (including 2 seafood meals) and an educational Kelong Tour. We have ample space and time to execute our planned programs like games, personal sharings and even line dancing! But still, this did not stop us from coming here again to celebrate my special day. I guess one of the strongest appealing events in our program is getting the children to experience playing with fire crackers and ALL to enjoy the Fireworks! I feel I’m so blessed, for how many people really celebrate their birthday enjoying beautiful fireworks together with 100 friends? And have you seen my birthday cake? It was my birthday present from the bus driver (Jenny & Ah Peng) whom I’ve engaged them to run my Malaysia transport only the second time! Can you imagine all the blessings and love each and every one of them had given me? I was fully consumed¦ My heartfelt thanks to you guys.
And guess what I’m going to do with all the blessings and love? I’m going to double, 10 times, thousand times and million times it till it overflows back to every of my love ones, friends and all new friends to come. If everyone starts to spread this positive vibes around, we will create a much more loving, positive, powerful and resourceful environment for anyone to succeed in life, wouldn’t we?

Why Is It Important To Improve Your Self?
By Jacklyn | April 28, 2007
Sometimes, when all our doubts, fears and insecurities wrap ourselves up, we always come up with the idea of ‘I wish I was somebody else’. More often than not, we think and believe that someone or rather, most people are better than us.- when in reality, the fact is, most people are more scared than us.
We look at a young business entrepreneur and say ‘Wooh!’ what else could he ask for? He stares at himself at the mirror and murmur to himself, ‘I hate my big eyes I wonder why my friends won’t talk to me I hope mom and dad would still work things out.
Isn’t it funny? We look at other people, envy them for looking so outrageously perfect and wish we could trade places with them, while they look at us and thinks of the same thing. We are insecure of other people who themselves are insecure of us. We suffer from low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence and lose hope in self improvement because we are enveloped in quiet desperation… Read the rest of this entry »

Success Formula
By Jacklyn | April 27, 2007
One recent formula that I learnt from Velika and Henry AY, who share the same vision & success factors, during our Skill Builders Group meeting and we would like to share it with you..
Your Success = ((Your Value x Leverage) (EQ))^(I)
What it means is this:
Your success that you want is derived from the value of what you have put in, values such as your skills, abilities, knowledge, contributions, etc for the greater good multiply by your ability to seek leverage. The entire multiplied result is then raised to the power of your emotional quotient (EQ). The result is then again raised to the power of your Intention or Desire. Read the rest of this entry »
