Life is About Choices and the Decisions We Make

By Jacklyn | May 22, 2007

Life is like a road. There are long and short roads; smooth and rocky roads; crooked and straight paths. Many roads would come our way as we journey through life. There are roads that lead to a life of single blessedness, marriage, and religious vocation. There are also roads that lead to fame and fortune on one hand, or isolation and poverty on the other. There are roads to happiness as there are roads to sadness, roads towards victory and jubilation, and roads leading to defeat and disappointment.

Just like any road, there are corners, detours, and crossroads in life. Perhaps the most perplexing road that you would encounter is a crossroad. With four roads to choose from and with limited knowledge on where they would go, which road will you take? What is the guarantee that we would choose the right one along the way? Would you take any road, or just stay where you are: in front of a crossroad? Read the rest of this entry »

How To Live Out Loud

By Jacklyn | May 16, 2007

An article from Aaron’s Personal Development site Today is That Day which I’d like to share with you…

Did you ever stop and wonder if your life is hurtling past you while you just hang on trying not to fall off, rather than you consciously creating a life that is full of happiness and joy?

Having just returned from an absolutely wonderful weekend in Panama City, FL where my wife and I attended the wedding of one of my closest friends, I have had the chance to give some serious forward-looking as well as retrospective thought to life in general, and posting those thoughts for the benefit of my readers immediately came to mind.

My desire is for everyone to enjoy life on this planet as much as possible and in as many ways as possible. The phrase “live out loud” popped into my head, and I saw that as a great way to describe a life that is consciously created to be full of fun and frivolity. Here are some tips on doing exactly that!Live Out LoudSmile and Laugh Often Although the concept of laughter being good for us in nothing new, that hasn’t stopped people from consistently taking life WAY too seriously! None of us is getting out of life alive, so why would you squander the opportunity to have a good time while you’re here?

Yes, you’ve got issues. Financial considerations, personal demons to battle, family problems, health concerns, career considerations, blah, blah, blah. So does everyone else. If you sit around waiting for all of your “stuff” to be handled before you can start laughing and smiling all day, you’ll be laying on your death bed wishing that you had spent more time laughing and smiling. A Tribute To All Mothers

By Jacklyn | May 13, 2007

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and to all other women who play ‘mother’ to their love ones! For me, I want to dedicate this article specially to my dearest mom, for her greatness in loving me selflessly..

Switzerland Holiday!Though I did not grow up with my mom till my Junior College days, we kept our relationship well. Actually by the time when I was a teen, we were having a somewhat more of friends than a mother-daughter relationship. And that was the only time where my family (including my 2 elder brothers) stayed together after 14 years of separation.

But shortly after my 20th birthday, I was diagnosed to suffer from lupus (SLE). It was a great tragedy not only for me, but the whole family as everyone had to keep running to the hospital because of my frequent hospitalizations.

Tensions, fears and financial stress eventually affected everyone in the family and I never seem to get better at all. Instead, I ended up suffering from kidney failure and had to rely on dialysis for survival. I did not see hope in life at all as at that point of time, my medical condition did not permit me to have a kidney transplant. And yet we still had to keep battling on..

It was another 9 long years of dialysis before the good news came that my mom had finally passed the donor’s test, and we went ahead with a recorded successful kidney transplant in Singapore General Hospital! Her love and courage to go through that risky operation to save me can never be measured! As the saying goes – “Mother’s love is the greatest love of all”! Can you feel the bond between us as I share one her kidney inside my body?

Mummy, I love you!!!

Since then, my new life started Here, I’d like to share 2 of my local media interviews with you, and hope you can rejoice with me…

Today, mom is one of the happiest and proudest mothers on earth! All her children are successful in the society and we are appreciating her with plenty of love which she rightfully deserves! Though we just choose a coffee shop for a simple Mother Day Dinner, it was the best meal she enjoyed.

Mother's Day Dinner

Mummy, we love you forever & ever…
